The Narara Family Home is a 184 m² residential build on the New South Wales Central Coast. The brief called for a family home that would perform strongly in a climate prone to both humid summers and cool winters — conditions where building envelope quality has a direct impact on year-round comfort and energy costs. Panel Haus SIP panels were specified for the full wall and roof system, delivering a continuous thermal envelope with significantly reduced air leakage compared to conventional framing.
The 124mm wall panels and 224mm roof panels provide thermal resistance values well above minimum NCC requirements for the climate zone. The blower door result of ≤1.0 ACH50 confirms the airtightness of the completed envelope — a result that conventional timber framing rarely achieves without significant additional sealing work. The structural shell was complete in 5 days.
